The third of 3 collab pieces with one of my best friends from high school — I love that we both got into jewelry making!
For this one, I sandcast a tiny model of a raven skull made by a friend and Desert Daisy Jewelry added the beautiful color palette of handwoven beads. One of a kind, over 10 hours of beading went into this beauty!
18” long with a 2” extender, all metal is sterling silver.
Sandcasting is an ancient technique where I create a mold using slightly damp sand and then pour molten silver into the mold. I melt down scraps of recycled sterling silver to create each pendant and the mold can only be used once. It’s a wonderful way to bring the natural world into my art.
